Wandsworth BME Mental Health Forum 19.11.20 3:00pm-5:00pm

Due to the COVID pandemic, we took the decision not to hold our Annual Black Mental Health ‘Healing our Broken Village’ Conference this year, and for the Forum this month to act as a holding space in-lieu of this event.

We will be joined by Mark Creelman Locality Director NHS Merton and Wandsworth who will provide an update on our EMHIP project (Ethnicity & Mental Health Improvement Project), for which he has now been appointed as Senior Responsible Officer, working alongside us to ensure that we have a wider whole system integration of this work.

We will also be joined by Vanessa Ford, CEO South West London and St Georges NHS Mental Health Trust, who will provide an update on the work that the Trust have been doing during the pandemic, on inequalities, and some of their plans going forward, particularly on their MH Transformation agenda.

As we all continue to manage ourselves through this second Lockdown period, our thoughts are beginning to turn towards the things that we need to hold onto to, the lessons and insights from this most extraordinary period, and how this helps informs a much stronger and more capable BME sector going forward. We want to spend some time at the Forum thinking about what this might look like, and for these to inform our shared and collective development work.

We would also welcome you sending any questions that you may have in advance ( and will of course continue to take questions and contributions at the meeting) so that we can ensure this are being addressed and responded too. Once you have registered, we will share your attendance, so that everyone will be able to know who is in the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you.
